Asset Management


Dan King is in charge of Asset Management at Lodging Capital Partners.  His primary role with LCP is to oversee the investment properties and to add value to the properties through aggressive asset management.

Prior to joining LCP, Dan has had a successful career in the hospitality industry, both in the field and in Corporate and Regional roles at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Loews Hotels and Park Lane Hotels International.  At Starwood, Dan most recently served as Area Managing Director in the West Region, overseeing 19 hotels and previously Served as Area Managing Director for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut and as Corporate Director of Centralized Services.  Earlier in his career, he held roles as Managing Director, General Manager, Resident Manager, Controller, and Food and Beverage Director.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Dan King attended Michigan State University, where he was a Student Supervisor at the Kellogg Center Hotel. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from John F. Kennedy University in California.

Dan is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.  He has Certificate in Real Estate Finance and Asset Management from Cornell University and a Certificate in The Design, Operation and Maintenance of Building Systems from BOMI.

As General Manager at Sheraton New Orleans Dan was named General Manager of the Year, received the Leadership Award for Starwood’s Southeast Region, and his hotel was named 2004 Starwood Hotel of the Year for North America.  Dan was also the focus of the long-running Starwood national “Meet Dan” advertising campaign, featuring print ads in trade magazines which targeted meeting and convention planners.

During the Hurricane Katrina emergency in New Orleans, Dan King led the planning, preparation, emergency response and recovery of the Sheraton Hotel.  He saw to the safe evacuation of all his guests and associates and kept his hotel open and operating during the entire aftermath of the storm to act as one of the sole refuges for police, military, rescue workers as well as the international press corps. His efforts were widely publicized in the national and international media and his story was featured in Conde Nast Traveler Magazine in an article entitled Extreme Hospitality.   He was honored with the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Chairman’s Award for Heroism and the National Resort Development Association’s Community Service Award.

Prior to joining Starwood Dan was Managing Director for Loews Hotels in Santa Monica, CA and Nashville, TN.  During his tenure with Loews Hotels he was honored as General Manager of the Year and his hotel was recognized as Hotel of the Year.   Prior to Loews, Dan also served as General Manager at Renaissance Parc Fifty Five Hotel in San Francisco, CA.
